The Ushpizin are 14 spiritual guests (7 Men and 7 Women) invited to join the Jewish celebration of Sukkot, a festival that commemorates the Israelites' 40 years of wandering in the desert after the Exodus from Egypt. These guests are believed to be biblical figures, and their presence is symbolically welcomed into the sukkah, a temporary outdoor structure used during Sukkot.
